CEIA USA Partners with NCSSD to Provide Scholarships for School Safety Leadership Training

CEIA USA Expands Access to K–12 Safety Training

CEIA USA is expanding access to critical training for school safety professionals through a new partnership with the National Council of School Safety Directors (NCSSD). As part of this initiative, CEIA USA is funding 250 scholarships for the Foundations of School Security Leadership Certificate course, helping reduce financial barriers for those responsible for protecting K–12 environments.
This effort, which continues through 2026, supports security professionals as they navigate increasingly complex threats while maintaining a safe and welcoming school atmosphere. Each scholarship also includes a one-year NCSSD membership, providing ongoing professional development and collaboration opportunities.
As Tom McDermott, CEIA USA K–12 Safety & Security Coach & Market Manager, shared:

“Protecting our schools against emerging threats shouldn’t come at the cost of a welcoming educational environment, nor should financial constraints prevent security leaders from accessing essential training.”

The course itself is a self-paced, nine-part program designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of school safety, covering prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery.

“The scholarships, funded by CEIA USA, will help ensure that school security coordinators and leaders receive the comprehensive training they need,” said Jason Stoddard, Board President of NCSSD.
