When Safety Matters Most: Choosing Science Over Sales

By Aaron Blevins, National Sales Manager, CEIA USA

When shopping for a car seat, I remember being drawn to the ones with all the extras. Some had cup holders, cooling fans, memory foam, and even built-in speakers. Several even promised to convert it into a booster seat for when my kid got older, buy once, use forever.

It all sounded great. But when I really looked closer:

  • The transforming features rarely worked the way they promised.
  • There was too much room for error when it came time to convert to the booster.
  • Some critical parts were easy to lose or could be thrown out of the box by accident.
  • The instructions were often vague or confusing.

And worst of all, if you didn’t get the conversion exactly right, safety could be compromised.

I needed something safe, reliable, and practical. I ended up choosing a model from a trusted brand that’s been around for generations, a brand known for getting what matters the most right. It had a removable base I could leave in the car, it was easy to use by myself and others, and it didn’t break the bank. It wasn’t flashy. But it gave me peace of mind, which I was looking for.

Don’t Let the Pitch Outshine the Purpose

Some security systems are built to look impressive. Giant touchscreens. Interactive interfaces. Real-time video feeds. These features may seem advanced, but they often create more problems than they solve in practice.

I’ve seen it happen: staff getting caught watching a screen instead of watching people. Focus drifts. Reaction time slows. And suddenly, the system’s primary purpose, spotting and stopping threats, takes a back seat.

These accessories might look good in a demo or pitch, but when there’s a line of people, noise, and pressure, they can become a real distraction at an actual entry point. And distractions don’t make anyone safer.

Reliable Systems, Real Results

The best security systems are like that trusted car seat. They’re built by companies that have been doing this for a long time and continue to invest in R&D, like CEIA. They’re proven, reliable, and focused on the features that matter most.

Some readers may not know this, but before joining CEIA USA, I was a Security Operations Manager at a Fortune 500 company. I chose to join CEIA USA because I thought about the impact security systems had on my family. When they are out and about, I want to know they are safe and CEIA is the only one that does that WITHOUT COMPROMISE!

Skip the Accessories. Keep the Performance.

I’ve been there, drawn in by features that sounded exciting but didn’t deliver. Whether it’s a car seat or a security checkpoint, I’ve learned to ignore the clutter and focus on what works in real life.

That’s how I buy. That’s how I present.
